About Us
Active Walker has been established to provide walking aids or apparatuses to make life a little easier for our elderly, disabled or incapacitated citizens. My name is Tammie and my background is in Project Management and the Finance Industry. My involvement with the Active Walker came about when my Father had a serious illness and became incapacitated. Up until that point he had always been a very active and independent gentleman. He desperately needed to become active to regain his health.
My husband who manages an elevator company and has an engineering background,he travels the world on a regular basis attending exhibitions, he met the designers and manufactures of disabled products, Access Mobility from Norway, many times at these exhibitions through their common interest, lifts for the disabled.
The engineers from Access had demonstrated their Active Walker to my husband and he had been very impressed with its unparalleled design characteristics and exceptional quality. He had seen other rollators at these exhibitions before but they had not really impressed him with their design or build quality. so to cut a long story short my husband suggested that the Active Walker would be ideal for my father.
We contacted Access in Norway, had a unit shipped and although at first hestitant within days my father was up and about. He is now inseparable from his Active Walker. Once my Parents friends became aware of the Active Walker they began to ask where they could get one so we decided to set up Active Walker in Australia to distribute this fine product.
We hope that we can provide you with some comfort and mobility through our products.
